Fairbanks Counseling and Adoption’s Street Outreach and Advocacy Program will host a First Friday event (September 3rd) at the Artisan’s Courtyard.
On display will be photographs and videos taken by homeless and at-risk youth. The purpose of this event is to show the Fairbanks community what it truly means to be a homeless youth in Fairbanks.
We invite the community of Fairbanks to come experience art beyond the norm, to expand their own beliefs, and to open their hearts to Fairbanks’ most ignored population.

This event is sponsored by a grant from the Alaska Mental Health Trust -
The Street Outreach and Advocacy Program works with out of home, homeless and at-risk youth ages 10-21. We offer free food, clothing, school supplies, bus tokens teaching independent living skills, and assist our clients in navigating the social services world such as finding health care and housing.
It is estimated that there are between 500 and 800 homeless youth living in Fairbanks. According to the National Runaway Switchboard, approximately 5,000 homeless youth die from assault, suicide, and illness each year. For more information, please contact Anna Dale at 374-9913.
